Minnow Lights

I finally got around to taking pictures of the other lights that I made. Here is the before picture of them. They are two minnow baskets. When attached together they make a minnow trap. I just purchased a pendant light kit & mounted it in there. Easy, Breezy......

This last shot is a picture of one of them that my husband put up in his band room (yes, he is in a band & yes they practice here). He couldn't wait to see what they looked like lit up :)  Ignore the green paint on the ceiling.....it's from the flourescent lights that the previous owners had put up.
So what do you guys think??

  5. Whoa -- this is awesome. So creative, looks amazing, and I love that you used minnow nets (I spent years catching minnows at a favourite pond as a kind). Love!

  25. I love creative lighting! I would like to add some pendants or chandeliers at my house, but we have pot lights everywhere. The only place I could do something creative is in our bedrooms where we have ceiling fans/lights, but we really need the fans because we light to keep the windows open a lot, and it gets warm here! Alas. Anyway, wanted to let you know I featured you on my blog this week. Thanks for the inspiration!

  27. I really do love the way they look, I have had three of these baskets with the same idea however I bought the light kit from Ikea and they are white, just don't look as good as yours. Where did you find the black light kit and how did you get them to hang without tilting to one side?
