The End Is In Sight...
So I know that it's been forever since I've blogged about anything....Lately my life just seems so busy. It didn't help that I took on the biggest project that I have ever tried to tackle either. I have been slowly, (very slowly) redoing my kitchen. First I repainted all the walls & then I started the big job....painting my kitchen cabinets. Usually I just keep at it until whatever I'm doing is done but since school has been out I have been distracted about a kagillion times! Anyway, here's a peek of where I'm at right now.
I still need to finish the cabinets though...I'm going to give them an antique look. But for now I'm happy just to have all of the doors back on!! I still have to put up the backsplash that we picked out & do the countertops. I'm not going to give you guys any details on what I'm planning on doing, but lets just say that I do have a "back up plan" in case I screw everything up. I'm also out scouring marble prices for the island....that's going to be the one "splurge" in this whole crazy project.
So what do you guys think so far?......I'll tell you one thing, I'm hoping that when it's all said & done & I can sit back & enjoy it, I hope I can keep it cleaner!!!!...Or I could just tell my four kids to stay out :)
What the kitchen looked like before...(taken from the real estate listing) |
The walls have been painted here & we changed out the lights too, but I hadn't started the cabinets yet...excuse my "clutter" |
All the white paint is finally done!! |
So happy to finally have the doors back on... no open cabinets for me, I'm way too messy for that! |
The island that I painted black...still needs hardware too |
I added these little flourishes by the sink..(the cabinets are white here too- bad photo) |
I still need to add my new pulls to the drawers too, but you can see my new kitchen faucet in this photo |
Wow! It looks so much better and bigger with the white. I want to paint my kitchen island black like sooooo bad but too chicken to do it. I cannot wait to see the marble island. What a tough job, and w/4 kiddos I am shocked you even finished it in the time that you did without a gazillion little handprints in the paint.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back :)

You've done an amazing job! Can't wait for the counter top reveal! Keep up the great inspirations....it's motivating to see what others are doing in their homes.
